Chibiscus is a modest, focused spot on Sunset Blvd that caters to those seeking Asian fusion and Japanese flavors without the fuss of a sprawling menu. The modest space inside fits a handful of diners with simple, tasteful decor that invites casual, unhurried meals. It’s the kind of place where locals and visitors alike drop in for a comforting bowl of ramen or a flavorful rice bowl that tastes like it was prepared with care rather than commercial haste.

The dining experience here centers around well-executed, authentic Asian dishes with a creative edge. Popular picks like the Tonkotsu and Spicy Miso Ramen highlight the kitchen’s strength in balancing depth and spice, while options such as Spam Musubi, Spicy Kimchi Pork Buns, and the Beef Sukiyaki Rice Bowl offer a fusion twist that keeps the menu interesting. Portions tend toward hearty, making it a solid choice for those wanting a filling lunch or dinner without overly heavy presentation.

Chibiscus appeals particularly to patrons who appreciate a relaxed, no-frills atmosphere paired with speedy service — several diners note the quick turnaround from order to table, which suits busy professionals but also those who want to linger without feeling rushed. While the interior is intimate, the availability of parking and nearby street options means it's convenient to stop by even during busier hours.

This modest eatery stands out by offering a thoughtful selection that covers ramen, hand rolls, rice bowls, and Asian-inspired finger foods, all complemented by drinks like Taro Boba Milk Tea and Thai Tea with Boba. It’s a spot where the comfort of a familiar dish meets subtle flair, making it a steady go-to for anyone seeking quality Asian fusion in the heart of Hollywood’s eclectic Sunset Boulevard scene.

I finally made it to Chibiscus and had an excellent meal. It is a small shop with a few tables and has some cute decor. And it has parking!!!  There is street parking as well if the lot is full. It is not a huge book of a menu. But the choices are well done, and everyone should be able to find something they want here. I started with the veggie potstickers and a spicy tuna hand roll. And then had the chicken curry dish as my entrée. Do not order too much at first, save some room for dessert. Oh my gosh! The desserts look amazing, and folks drive from all over for the brick toasts here. My food arrived after just a bit. The potstickers were good. Good flavor and not overcooked, along with a nice dipping sauce. The spicy tuna handroll was huge! What a deal! Maybe 6-7 bites to eat it all. The curry came out and was a good amount of food, just like everything else that had already been served. A large scoop of rice, some pickled ginger and a big bowl of Curried chicken came out. It was really hot, and I needed to let it cool a bit before digging in. It had a nice flavor, like a brown sauce with curry added maybe(?). Potatoes, carrots, and plenty of chicken, it was a good amount of food. I probably should have taken some food home but ended up just eating everything there. Next time, dessert!

Literally some of the best ramen I’ve had. And the musubi and the kimchi fried rice were unreal and the owner made everything himself. A true gem

All I have to say is WOWWWWW! Second time trying this place and it’s so delicious. I felt so well nourished and fulfilled. Staff was great and food came so quickly. Adding on: So ummmm….. this place was one of the best discoveries. The ramen is so rich in flavor. Small place but I love dinning in and enjoying the calm vibe. I never wait to long for my food to be prepared and I’ve never had complaints about this place except that I wish I ate out more often and frequented this restaurant more.

Cute little Asian fusion cafe with delicious food and great service. The Vegie Ham Bun was full of flavor and moist, and the Egg Garlic Fried Rice amazing. Will definitely come back.

Was craving sukiyaki - Yelp brought me here. It’s a casual mom & pop shop, 6 tables, TV playing kpop vids, no frills, just freshly cooked rice bowls and best $5 spicy tuna hand rolls in Hollywood! Husband enjoyed his pork chashu bowl: perfect size and for $9 can’t go wrong! Satisfied my sukiyaki craving for $13: so tasty, so filling and came out piping hot. Also enjoyed their Thai tea with boba. Thanks for a lovely lunch, we will for sure be back to try spicy tonkotsu ramen, Oreo brick toast and musubi! #supportsmallbusiness Follow for food & travel on IG: @i_therefore_conclude

Chibiscus is my go to in the neighborhood. Always hits the spot and never disappoints with flavor and fast, friendly service. This is the Chashu Chicken & Rice dish. I love their thai teas and smoothies as well. Super refreshing.
